Dr. Berger received his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Colorado State University in 1977. He completed an internship at the prestigious Animal Medical Center in New York City in 1978, and a 3 year formal surgical residency at the University of California School of Veterinary Medicine in 1982.
Dr. Berger served on the teaching faculty at the University of California until leaving to enter private practice in 1986. He served as a surgical specialist for the communities of Sacramento and San Francisco, California and Albuquerque, New Mexico until moving with his family to Southwest Florida in 1996.
Dr. Berger is Board Certified in surgery and is a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Surgeons. He is a council member of the Association for Veterinary Orthopedic Research and Education. He also serves as the chief surgical consultant for Dr. Larry Tilley and Associates, a nationwide veterinary specialty consulting practice.

John A Izad, DVM, ABVP (Feline)
Dr. Izad recieved his DVM degree from the Ohio State University in 1982. He engaged in private practice in Northeastern Ohio until 1992, when he purchased the first all feline hospital in SW Florida. His particular areas of interest include veterinary diagnostic ultrasonography and feline medicine and surgery. In 2002, Dr Izad was certified as a Diplomate for the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners (Feline). He lives with his wife Kim and 3 cats in Port Charlotte, Florida.
