Veterinarians


Whitney Whitford, DVM

Dr. Whitney graduated from the University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine with honors in 1995.  In 1997 she married Dr. Charley and joined the Animal Medical Center of Lehigh Acres, where she practiced for two years.  She transfered to Viscaya-Prado Veterinary Hospital in Cape Coral in late 1999.  By 2001, Dr Whitney had returned to the AMC, and in June 2003, she and Dr. Charley purchased the AMC from Drs. Larry and Beth Murphy.  Dr. Whitney's special interests include critical care and internal medicine.  She enjoys running and spending time with her family- 7 dogs, 4 cats and 2 horses.  You can see Dr. Whitney on the "Pet Connection" every Tuesday at about 7:45 am on Wink TV.  She answers questions from callers and brings in a dog or cat from the Gulfcoast Humane Society looking for a home.





Charles Whitford, DVM

Dr. Charley also graduated from the University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine in 1995.  He began practicing at Viscaya-Prado Veterinary Hospital soon after graduation, and remained there for eight years.  In June of 2003, he and Dr. Whitney purchased Animal Medical Center of Lehigh Acres from Drs. Larry and Beth Murphy.  His special interests include performing surgery and preventative care.  He enjoys biking, running and cheering for the Gators football team! 










Doctors Whitney and Charley have seven dogs-  Missy, Penny, Rizzo, Sheldon, Sweet Pea, Toby and Tina, four cats- Tyra, Sarah, Monkey and Horatio (aka Orange Kitty) and two horses- Junior & Liberty. They enjoy participating in the Walt Disney World Marathon each year.  All of their pets are rescues.







 

 



Pamela Mettley, DVM


Dr. Pam graduated in 1985 from Louisiana State University.  She began practicing at a small animal hospital in Miami which had six veterinarians, and remained there for six years.  In 1991 she moved to Southwest Florida where she continued practicing medicine.  Dr. Pam's special interests include feline and geriatric medicine and preventative care.  She has a two cats; Luna & Macintosh and two dogs, Alfie & Lizzie.  Pictured is Karma, who is an Animal Medical Center rescue.
