December Pet Spotlight
Tammy

Tammy presented to the AMC with vomiting and diarrhea. A Parvovirus test showed that Tammy, in fact had Parvo. Tammy was admitted to the hospital with a poor prognosis. An intravenous catheter was placed and she was started on intravenous fluids to keep her hydrated. She was admitted into intensive care. Her temperature, heart rate, and respiratory rate were monitored every few hours while she was in hospital. Her intensive care treatment consisted of intravenous antibiotics, antiemetics, and fresh frozen Plasma. Tammy was in intensive care for ten days before she started showing signs of improvement, she finally had an appetite! She was discharged from the hospital on her eleventh day. Today Tammy is doing wonderful. The above picture is Tammy when she came in for a recheck and her Distemper/Parvo vaccine.
